procedure (student applicant visa, language visa, student visa)
Once you have successfully submitted an application and received admission from the university, the next thing you need is a visa to enter the country for study purposes. As a rule, an online form must first be completed, and an appointment request made to your local embassy or consulate in your country. Various documents must be prepared for your personal appointment, which you must then bring along. If you have received your visa and have already entered Germany, you must apply for a residence permit at your place of study within three months at the latest.
Overseas health insurance
To enter Germany, overseas health insurance is required in the beginning. This usually includes a range of services for outpatient, inpatient and dental treatment with all licensed physicians worldwide at the usual local fee rate. The insurance is necessary for entry to Germany. As soon as you are enrolled, you are obliged to change to statutory student health insurance.
After confirming your appointment, you should prepare very well for your personal interview at the embassy. In your letter of motivation, you have to express why you want to study in Germany. The following questions should be answered in particular:
- Why did you choose Germany?
- Why did you choose the university concerned?
- Why did you choose this specific course of study?
- What do you expect from this course of study and what are your plans afterwards?
In addition to a letter of motivation, the following documents are also required:
- A current CV
- Letter of admission from the university
- Proof of financing of your stay
- Proof of valid (overseas) health insurance in Germany
- Valid passport
- Proof of any knowledge of German
- Certified translations of certificates
We will help you in a personal consultation so that nothing is forgotten, and you are prepared very well for the upcoming interview.
